Is America ushering in the End Times?

Bill Wilson

As humans, I do not believe we can change the course of prophecy, but we can determine our place in it. The most disturbing thing about American foreign policy is that this nation appears to be on course for helping the enemies of YHVH God rush headlong into prophetic fulfillment of what many Biblical prophets in both the Old and New Testaments said would be the Day of the Lord, or the last battle when Jesus Christ returns to establish his kingdom on earth. Since 1978, with few exceptions, US Middle East policy has been headed toward establishing the very nations described in the Bible as coming against Israel in the end. But it goes back even further.

Daniel 12:4 says, “But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” It long has been taught that the antichrist would rise from Europe and the revived Roman Empire would come against Israel in the end times before Christ upon his return would crush the antichrist’s beast empire and establish his kingdom over earth. But a closer look at Daniel, Ezekiel, Genesis, Isaiah, Matthew, Luke, Revelation and many other books of the Bible would reveal that not one European nation is named as coming against Israel in that Day of the Lord–all those named are currently Islamic or Arabs who practice Islam.

References to the Assyrian as the antichrist are found in Isaiah, Micah, and Hosea. The nations in Ezekiel 38 are all Islamic, with Gog leading the charge from lands formerly in the Assyrian region of present day Turkey. As knowledge increases, it appears that a revived Islamic Caliphate could be the 8th and final empire of the Beast. The Ottoman Empire ruled over the entire area mentioned in the Bible from 1453 to 1922, when with the help of the United States the Caliphate was abolished. The Treaty of Lausanne that effectively saw the end of the Caliphate and the beginning of Turkey was held up by the United States until it included concessions that allowed the US oil development rights in Turkey.

Since then, the United States has played a role in re-establishing the Caliphate. Jimmy Carter’s foreign policy helped establish the radical Islamic Ayatollah regime in Iran. Bill Clinton sided with the Muslims in Kosovo. George W Bush helped establish Hamas in Gaza, strengthened the Palestinian Authority, and allowed Islamic constitutions in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Islamic rule in Pakistan. The current occupant of the Oval Office has partnered with Caliphate-rebuilder Muslim Brotherhood in assisting establishment of Islamic rule in Libya, Egypt, Yeman, and Tunisia. Under the current White House policy, Turkey also has become more Islamic. While the US says it supports Israel, and it does, its foreign policy has also favored a rebuilding of the Islamic Caliphate–which could be the return of the end time beast empire.
